New Stays to Wake Up To on Nusa Lembongan

New Stays to Wake Up To on Nusa Lembongan

There’s something exciting about discovering somewhere new to stay — a different view, a new neighbourhood to explore, or just a fresh place to call home for a little while. This year, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan welcome a handful of stunning new stays, each offering their own take on island living. From cliffside luxury to beachfront bliss and even a tented escape by the sea, these new additions are made for travellers chasing something a little different.

Arna Suites & Ocean Lounge

Tucked away on the quieter shores of Nusa Ceningan, Arna Suites & Ocean Lounge blends barefoot luxury with a touch of adventure. Think beautifully appointed safari-style tents with all the creature comforts — air-conditioning, mini-bar, private bathrooms, and sweeping sea views.

Start your day with an à la carte breakfast, unwind by the infinity pool, and sip cocktails at the Ocean Lounge as the sun dips below the horizon. With a lush garden, 24-hour reception, and beachfront vibes, Arna is perfect for couples and solo travellers looking for something refreshingly different.

Why we love it: Elegant tented suites, oceanfront infinity pool and lounge, and a laidback setting just across the Yellow Bridge.

Villa Nomadas

Located just steps from the shoreline in Jungutbatu, Villa Nomadas is where architectural elegance meets the spirit of island life. The property includes a 3-bedroom villa and a 4-bedroom villa, each with its own private pool and open-plan living. You can book them individually or combine them into one spacious compound — perfect for extended families or groups of friends.

Villa Nomadas is more than just a stay; it’s a gentle tribute to Balinese culture and community. Inspired by the tradition of gotong royong, the property weaves together local craftsmanship, timber finishes, and warm, meaningful hospitality. Expect breezy bedrooms, garden-fringed pools, and a peaceful rhythm that invites you to fully unwind.

Why we love it: steps from beach and bites, and a perfect setting for families or group of friends.

Villa Ocean Blue

Brand new and perched on a cliff in peaceful Sandy Bay, Villa Ocean Blue is a four-bedroom masterpiece designed for families and groups. The open-plan layout flows seamlessly from indoors to out, connecting the large garden, ocean-facing pool, and breezy entertaining spaces.

The villa sleeps up to 8 guests and features a massive 98” Smart TV, ideal for movie nights after long beach days. Whether you’re lounging poolside or dining under the stars, everything here is built to bring people together in comfort and style.

Why we love it: Panoramic views and expansive open-plan living.

Seaview Private Villas

Set across multiple levels and overlooking both the ocean and Mount Agung, Seaview Private Villas offers flexibility and charm in equal measure. Choose from 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom options — or book the whole complex as a 6-bedroom retreat for the ultimate group getaway.

Each villa is thoughtfully designed with comfortable living areas, full kitchens, and access to shared facilities like the pool and on-site restaurant. But the showstopper? A private beach cave only accessible via the villa’s lift — exclusive, secluded, and perfect for a quiet dip in the sea.

Why we love it: Private beach cave, family-friendly layouts, and a front-row seat to Mt. Agung and ocean view.

Morin’s Story of Conservation, Morin Resort Nusa Lembongan

Built Mindfully: Morin’s Story of Conservation

Built Mindfully: Morin’s Story of Conservation

At Morin Resort, we believe that a business can, and should, be a force for good. From the materials we build with, to the energy we use, to the way we treat people and the ocean, we are doing our best to operate in a way that protects, uplifts, and regenerates. We don’t claim to have it all figured out, but we are committed to learning, improving and treading as lightly as we can.

Business as a Force for Conservation

Our barefoot-luxury resort is more than just a place to stay, it’s a small platform we hope can help raise awareness and inspire thoughtful action. We see ourselves as students and stewards of the natural world that surrounds us, especially the vibrant marine life that makes Nusa Lembongan island so unique.

As part of our ongoing commitment to conservation, we are proud to support Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF), whose work focuses on the research and conservation of manta rays, sea turtles and whale sharks. One way we support their efforts is through guided manta ray trips with our private boat, Pari Manta, which aim to be more than a snorkeling experience. These outings are co-hosted by two MMF biologists: one shares knowledge with guests about local marine life and conservation efforts, while the other collects data that directly contributes to ongoing research and the preservation of these species and their habitats. For our guests, it’s a chance to witness ocean conservation in action, and for us, it’s a way to connect tourism with tangible, science-based conservation.

Mindful Materials & Timeless Design

Our commitment to sustainability began with the building of Morin itself. No trees were cut down to make space for the resort. Instead, we chose to build with mostly antique teak, giving a second life to materials that already carried history. Much of the wood you’ll see has been upcycled with care, reflecting a simple belief: we can often work with what’s already here.

To us, sustainability means looking beyond short-term convenience and considering long-term impact. We’re still learning every day, but we try to ask not just ‘what does this cost today?’ but ‘what will this mean tomorrow?’

A Work in Progress: Responsible Operations

Beyond design, we take responsibility for how we operate. Our wastewater is treated before being released, something that should be standard practice, yet still worth mentioning in today’s world. It’s a simple act of respect for the reef and sea around us.

Some everyday examples: we use solar panels to reduce our energy footprint and make small, practical choices that reflect our values, like edible rice straws instead of plastic, refillable glass water bottles, and fans in rooms to reduce reliance on air conditioning. These details may go unnoticed, but they help protect the environment we depend on.

At our restaurant, The Playful Table, we extend this philosophy to the plate. Our menu leans proudly plant-based, celebrating local roots—literally—with ingredients like cassava, the island’s staple crop. We believe travel should remain a journey of discovery, not a repetition of the familiar. After all, what’s the point of going halfway around the world if you’re served the same continental breakfast you could find anywhere?

Around the property, we also share information with guests about local species, like geckos and frogs, to help everyone better understand and peacefully coexist with the wildlife that lives here.

We know we still have more to learn and more to do, and we’re always looking for thoughtful ways to do better, one small step at a time.

Conscious Business Means Conscious People

Sustainability at Morin isn’t just about the environment, it’s also about how we treat each other. We’re gently challenging some of the outdated norms in hospitality, where the guest is seen as king at the expense of the team’s well-being. We don’t believe respect should be a one-way street.

At Morin, our team is the heart of everything. We’re cultivating a safe, supportive space where each individual can grow, personally and professionally. Our workplace isn’t just a resort; it’s a playground for growth, a place where people are encouraged to be themselves and thrive.

And when we welcome you to Morin, we hope it’s not just about service, but about connection. To each other. To nature. And to yourself.

A New Kind of Luxury

We are still learning. Still growing. But we believe in a kind of luxury that gives back, one that is rooted in respect, care and purpose.

If you choose to stay with us, we hope you leave lighter, inspired and perhaps even a little more connected to this beautiful planet we all share.

Come experience a new kind of luxury, one that gives back, grows together and leaves the world better than we found it.

Our team is always here to help you have the perfect Lembongan stay and arrange the boat transfers for your next island getaway.

Mindful Travel Tips to Nusa Lembongan

Slow down, tune in, and make your holiday count both for you and the island.

Nusa Lembongan’s charm lies in its simplicity: small warungs, friendly faces, a slower rhythm, and stunning natural beauty. As travellers, our impact matters—how we explore, shop, eat, and play makes a difference to the people and places that make this island so special.

Here are some mindful travel tips to help you tread gently while enjoying everything Nusa Lembongan has to offer.

Support Local Businesses

The charm of Nusa Lembongan is in its small-scale, locally owned experiences. From beachfront warungs to family-run snorkelling tours, your choices matter. By spending your money locally, you’re helping the island’s economy thrive and empowering families to continue sharing their culture and hospitality with visitors.

Here’s how you can support locals:

  • Eat in warungs – These small eateries offer delicious, home-cooked Indonesian meals and a chance to interact with local families. Watch our reels to get local warung recommendations from TLT team here.
  • Shop at island markets – Pick up souvenirs, clothing, or fresh fruit from local vendors.
  • Hire transport directly – Whether it’s a scooter or buggy, you can hire it from local operators like Made Lembongan Transport.
  • Book locally run activitiesSnorkelling, diving, and surf lessons are often run by islanders who know the sea best.

Honour Island Rhythm & Traditions

Balinese traditions are deeply woven into everyday life on Nusa Lembongan. Ceremonies take place daily, offerings line the streets, and locals live by a rhythm that balances work, prayer, and community. As a guest, your respect for these customs goes a long way.

Keep these cultural tips in mind:

  • Greet local elders as “Bapak” (male) or “Ibu” (female).
  • Use your right hand for giving or receiving items.
  • Avoid using your fingers to point and refrain from touching someone’s head.
  • Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and below your knees when entering a temple.
  • Do not enter a temple if you are on your period.
  • Honk your scooter horn when you ride past a cemetery, temple, or any other sacred sites.

Use Electricity & Water Mindfully

Nusa Lembongan has limited infrastructure for electricity and fresh water. While modern comforts are available, they come with environmental costs. Adopting mindful habits during your stay helps reduce your impact on island resources.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Turn off the air conditioning, lights, and TV when not in use.
  • Keep showers short, and reuse towels instead of requesting daily laundry service.
  • Bring a dry towel, it dries faster after a swim and reduces laundry loads.

Say No to Fireworks

While fireworks might seem like a fun way to celebrate, they pose serious risks on an island like Nusa Lembongan. The safety of guests, locals, and the environment should always come first.

Here’s why fireworks are discouraged:

  • Safety Concerns: Injuries can easily occur in unfamiliar surroundings, especially without emergency services.
  • Fire Hazards: Many buildings use alang-alang (thatched) roofing, which is highly flammable.
  • Noise Pollution: Loud fireworks disturb the peaceful atmosphere, local wildlife, and nearby families.
  • Environmental Impact: Fireworks release toxic chemicals and debris, polluting land and sea.

Instead of fireworks, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset followed by a quiet night full of stars from your stay or from our favourite beaches on the island.

Protect Coastal & Marine Life

The vibrant coral reefs and marine life surrounding Nusa Lembongan are some of the island’s most valuable treasures. But they’re also incredibly fragile. A little extra care goes a long way in keeping them pristine.

Here’s how to protect the underwater world:

  • Use reef-safe sunscreen which is available at several shops on the island.
  • Avoid touching corals, sea turtles, or other marine animals. Even a gentle brush can cause harm.
  • Always follow your guide’s instructions when snorkelling or diving.

Remember, you’re a guest in their home.

Travel Thoughtfully

Scooters are a popular way to explore Nusa Lembongan, but they’re not always the most sustainable or safest option, especially for larger groups.

Here are some low-impact alternatives:

  • Share transport – Travelling with friends or family? Hire a pick-up car or buggy together instead of renting multiple scooters.
  • Use restaurant shuttles – Many venues offer free pick-up and drop-off services. It’s more efficient and eco-friendly.

Being thoughtful about how you get around helps reduce carbon emissions and traffic on the island’s narrow roads.

Embrace the Slow Island Life

Nusa Lembongan isn’t the place to tick off a to-do list. It’s a place to pause, reflect, and savour the moment. Whether you’re lounging at your villa, wandering through village lanes, or watching the waves roll in, the island invites you to slow down and reconnect with nature, with others, and with yourself.

Ways to slow down and soak it in:

  • Stay longer – Spend a few extra nights. Revisit favourite beaches. Linger a little longer over lunch.
  • Explore wellness offerings – Try a yoga class, enjoy a massage, or spend time at a retreat.
  • Dine like a local – Discover hidden warungs and meet the people behind the meals.
  • Disconnect to reconnect – Less screen time, more stargazing.

The less you rush, the more you’ll remember.

By following these guidelines, you’ll help preserve the beauty and serenity of Nusa Lembongan for everyone. Thank you for being a mindful traveller.

Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan? With its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, Nusa Lembongan is a paradise waiting to be explored. Here’s everything you need to know to ensure a smooth boarding process and an enjoyable journey.

Distance and Duration

Nusa Lembongan Boat Transfer

The distance between Bali and Nusa Lembongan is approximately 15 kilometres, with a quick 30 to 40-minutes boat ride. Rest assured, the boats are spacious, safe, and equipped with modern safety gear, ensuring your peace of mind throughout the journey.

Sanur Port

The Port is newly opened in 2022 and located on Jalan Matahari Terbit. Every day, more than 20 vessels take travellers to various destinations including Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Penida and Gili islands.

Boarding Steps

Get your boarding pass

Head to the fast boat office to collect your boarding pass and check in your luggage. At the office, you will receive a small paper boarding pass with QR code along with either a boat lanyard tag or a wristband, depending on the boat provider. Additionally, you’ll be given a note for your return journey, which is essential to keep safe as you’ll need to present it to the boat office in Nusa Lembongan on your departure date.

Walk to the port

Take a short walk to the port where your boat awaits. The entrance gate is located on the left side of the port. Along the way, you’ll pass several stalls where you can purchase water and snacks for your boat ride before entering the port.

Security Check and wait in the waiting room

Once you enter the port, you’ll encounter a barrier gate in the terminal. Here, the staff will scan the QR code on your boarding pass. Only those with a boarding pass QR code are permitted to enter the gate and proceed to the waiting room upstairs.

Board your boat

An announcer will call your boat’s name. Prepare your boarding pass once again and follow the crew for instructions.

Arrival Points in Nusa Lembongan

Arrival Points in Nusa Lembongan, Boat to Nusa Lembongan

When arriving in Nusa Lembongan, different fast boat operators drop passengers at different locations. Choosing the right one can save you time and make your transfer smoother. Here’s a quick guide to help you pick the best arrival point based on your stay:

Jungutbatu Bay

If you’re staying in the Jungutbatu area, D’Stars Fast Ferry and Setia Fast Ferry are the most convenient choices. They drop you right in the heart of Jungutbatu, making it easy to reach nearby accommodations.

Mushroom Bay

Staying near Mushroom Bay? The Tanis Fast Cruise and Dream Beach Express are your options. They offer direct access to this area, known for its calm waters and scenic surroundings.

Telatak Harbour

For a jetty-to-jetty experience, Rocky Fast Cruise is the ideal choice. Unlike other arrival points where passengers disembark into the water, Telatak is the only harbor that offers a dry landing via a proper jetty.

Each arrival point offers different advantages, so selecting the right fast boat operator ensures a hassle-free start to your Nusa Lembongan getaway!

Tips

  • Unless you book Rocky Fast Cruise with jetty to jetty service, you will land on water. Wear appropriate clothes (shorts and flip flops) and be mindful when carrying your suitcase as it can be hard to drag on sand. You can opt to store your luggage at one of the luggage drop services near the port for extra convenience.
  • Traffic to reach Sanur Port can be unpredictable and we strongly suggest to spare extra transport time. For the most practical way to reach the port, book a transfer that includes pickup and drop off by the boat company.
  • Go to the toilet before boarding as only some fast boats have a toilet onboard. But with the boat going at 50 km/h, it will not be the easiest toilet experience.
  • Sit at the back of the boat to reduce the up and down bouncing motion experienced during the ride.
  • The smoothest rides are often in the morning before the wind picks up. Less chop on the water.
  • No F&B service on the boat, so you can bring your own water and snacks.
  • Separate your travel bag and take a small backpack for your water and snacks as your luggage will be put in the main storage area of the boat.

ISLAND TRAVEL TIPS BEFORE COMING TO NUSA LEMBONGAN

This enchanting island, just a short boat ride from Bali, is a slice of paradise waiting to be explored. To make your journey smooth and your experience unforgettable, here are some essential tips with a little added flair to get you excited!

Book Your Stay Early

First Time in Nusa Lembongan, Villa Nusa Lembongan, Stay in Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is a small island with limited accommodation options, and availability can fill up quickly, especially during high season. Booking your stay sooner than later is essential.

The limited availability and high demand means some properties impose non-refundable cancellation policies. We recommend taking up travel insurance, valid from the day of your booking, to protect you from “just in case” moments. This way, you’re covered for unexpected changes and can relax knowing your plans are protected.

Know When To Go

Planning your trip during the right season can make a big difference. High season (June to August) is lively, with lots of visitors and a bustling atmosphere. This season also offers clear skies and calm seas, perfect for adventures.  It’s a great time if you love vibrant energy, but keep in mind that prices for accommodation and activities will be higher, and popular spots may be busier.

Low season (November to March) brings a quieter vibe, with fewer crowds and often better deals on places to stay. It’s perfect if you prefer a more relaxed experience. However, you might encounter some tropical rain showers, which can add a touch of adventure to your stay. Whichever season you choose, Nusa Lembongan’s beauty and charm remain constant.

Pick The Perfect Stay
