Nusa Lembongan by @eveisescapades
We recently caught up with Evie Nairn (@eveisescapades) and found out why she keeps coming back to Nusa Lembongan, her island highlights and top tips. Take a read for some great holiday inspiration, and be sure to follow her travels on instagram, she is a fellow ocean lover and has a very special skill of capturing it in all its beauty.
How many times have you visited Lembongan?
I have been to Lembongan a total of four times, once with a friend, once solo and twice with my husband.
Why do you keep coming back to Lembongan?
Lembongan combines so many of my favourite things, amazing beaches, good food and drink, plenty of ocean activities (surfing, snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding) and is also really accessible as it’s only a 30 minute boat ride away from Bali and a quick three hour flight from my hometown in Western Australia. I also really enjoy that your time here can be as relaxed or as action packed as you like and that Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida are super close, so that you have plenty of options to go exploring!
What’s your ideal day on Lembongan consist of?
I actually love getting up at sunrise and going for a walk or taking a yoga class at one of the lovely yoga studios on the island. This would be followed up by a delicious brekky, Ginger and Jamu and Green Garden are two of our favourite brekky spots! After this, normally a trip back to our accommodation to jump in the pool and get ready for the day before hopping on our scooter and going beach and bar hoping around Lembongan and Ceningan. My favourite way to spend the afternoon is always at a beach side bar with a pool and luckily, there are plenty to choose from! From here, I normally love to head around to The Deck, which is my favourite place to spend happy hour, watch the sunset and grab something delicious to eat for dinner!
Being a keen photographer, I normally also spend a lot of the day stopping around every bend taking photos! It’s a really photogenic place and changes so much throughout the day, providing ample opportunity for some really unique and lovely snaps.
Where on Lembongan do you prefer to stay?
I really love being around the Mushroom / Secret Beach area and within walking distance to eateries like Thai Pantry and The Deck. The views around this area are so spectacular and the best place to watch the sunset!
You recently stayed at the new Beach Tonic, tell us a little about this new villa….
Okay this was undoubtably the best place that we have ever stayed! The villa was so spacious and stunning, it had incredible views and an amazing beachy vibe throughout, really bringing the beauty of the island inside! It had such an amazing, homely feel and felt so sad to leave!
Your top tip for people considering a Lembongan holiday?
DO IT!! Also, give yourself plenty of time as whilst the island is a great weekender, there is also so much to see; so if you can, stay a while and give yourself the opportunity to enjoy everything that the island has to offer.
