PONTOON by Lago

Just offshore from Lago, PONTOON offers a different way to spend an afternoon on Nusa Lembongan. Open to the public, the floating space sits out on the water somewhere between a relaxed lounge, a sunset bar and an ocean escape. Guests can take the complimentary shuttle boat from DAWN to PONTOON throughout the day, making it easy to head offshore whenever the mood takes you.

The experience is intentionally easy. Comfortable lounge areas and shaded seating make it possible to settle in for a few hours, while the open water and surrounding reef provide the setting. Come for a swim, take a snorkel, dive from the jumping platform, or simply find a spot to watch the waves.

For those looking to get into the water, snorkelling equipment is available to rent, subject to availability. The jumping platform offers two height options, while beanbags provide a place to stretch out between swims. For a little more adventure, guests can even catch a wave at the Playgrounds from PONTOON. There is no set way to spend the time here; swim, settle in or simply let the afternoon unfold.

Enjoy refreshing beverages throughout the day, from expertly crafted cocktails and chilled beers to wine and non-alcoholic options. As the afternoon moves on, the atmosphere changes with the light. The water becomes calmer, the sun begins to lower and the island takes on a different perspective from offshore. PONTOON is equally suited to an afternoon swim, a drink with friends or watching the sun set over the reef.

PONTOON is open daily from 12pm to 7pm, with the last complimentary shuttle returning at 6pm No reservation needed. For an afternoon spent between the island and the open water, PONTOON offers a slower, more unexpected way to experience Nusa Lembongan.

DUSK by Lago – Dining by the Sea on Nusa Lembongan

DUSK brings a beachfront dining experience like no other on the island. The restaurant’s west-facing deck makes the changing sky part of the experience. Lunch moves easily into afternoon drinks, before the space settles into dinner as the sun begins to disappear.

The setting is contemporary, with an open connection between the dining room, the verandah and the beach beyond. Natural light moves through the space during the day, while the atmosphere becomes warmer and more intimate towards evening. Outside, the deck looks across the ocean, giving guests a front-row view as the afternoon turns into sunset.

Seafood is at the heart of the menu, with an emphasis on sustainably caught fish and fresh local ingredients. One of the signatures is Captain Kuniya’s Coconut Ceviche, made with fish brought in that morning by Kuniya, who runs his jukung (a traditional Indonesian small wooden outrigger boat) from Coconut Beach. The menu also brings together Australian, New Zealand, local and Southeast Asian influences, with a range of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes.

The drinks follow the same approach, with cocktails drawing on Indonesian ingredients and flavours, alongside wines from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Europe. It is an easy progression from an afternoon drink on the deck to dinner as the evening settles in.

Every Thursday, DUSK invites guests to pull up a seat and enjoy an exclusive Chef’s Table. The five-course Chef’s Table menu changes from week to week based on the season’s best catch, the morning’s harvest and the chef’s inspiration. With limited seats available, it offers a more intimate way to experience DUSK.

The door at DAWN opens at 6AM. Sitting right on the beachfront, DAWN is an all-day café made for slow mornings, long breakfasts and easy afternoons by the sea. The west-facing space catches the morning light, with indoor seating for cooler moments and outdoor tables extending towards the sand. It is a relaxed place to start the day, whether you are stopping by before a morning surf, meeting friends for coffee or simply taking your time.

Breakfast is served from 6am to 2pm, with a menu that brings together familiar breakfast favourites and thoughtful local touches. Expect generous plates, lighter options and something for every kind of morning, from a proper breakfast after an early start to something simple alongside your first coffee. Fresh pastries, house-made pies and baked treats are available throughout the day, making DAWN just as easy to visit for a quick bite as it is for a long, unhurried meal.

Coffee is at the heart of DAWN. Beans are ethically sourced from plantations across Bali and Java, with a full selection of espresso-based coffees served hot or iced. Alternative milks and decaf are available, alongside freshly pressed juices, smoothies, young coconut and a considered selection of teas and other drinks.

As the day moves on, DAWN naturally shifts with it. The morning breakfast menu gives way to lighter grazing and afternoon drinks, with local beers, seltzers and a DAWN Aperol Spritz on tap. There is no need to make a separate plan for the afternoon. You can simply stay where you are and let the day change around you.

The setting is a big part of what makes DAWN feel at home on Nusa Lembongan. Outside, consciously constructed furniture creates a relaxed space for lingering, while beachside bar leaners and bench seating sit closer to the beach. Inside offers a cooler retreat from the midday sun. The west-facing position brings changing light throughout the day, keeping the space connected to the beach beyond.

DAWN fits naturally into island life. Start with coffee before heading out on the water, settle in for breakfast, return for something from the pastry counter, or stay into the afternoon as the light moves across the beach. There is no particular way to spend the time here.
