Travel Insurance 101

How Travel Insurance Works for Your Bali or Lembongan Trip

Travel insurance isn’t just a box to tick—it’s a clear process that protects you before and during your trip. Here’s how it really works, with examples from Bali and Nusa Lembongan.

Travel Insurance Nusa Lembongan

Choosing Your Policy

Start by deciding what kind of cover you need. Are you only looking for basic medical coverage, or do you want cancellation, luggage, and activity protection? For Australian travellers heading to Bali, Cover-More offers Basic, Comprehensive, or Comprehensive+ plans that include medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellations, theft, and adventure sports like snorkelling or diving in Nusa Lembongan.

If you’re a frequent traveller, Cover-More also offers an Annual Multi-Trip policy, which covers an unlimited number of trips within a 12-month period, up to the maximum trip duration you choose.

Buying Your Policy

Purchase insurance as soon as you book flights or accommodation. This ensures you’re covered if you need to cancel due to unexpected illness or accidents before departure. Policies can be purchased online through Cover-More, where you’ll get an instant confirmation and policy number.

What’s Covered (and What’s Not)

Typical claims include medical treatment (e.g., a scooter accident in Lembongan), stolen items, or trip delays (like ferry cancellations between Sanur and Jungutbatu). However, you won’t be covered if you ride a motorbike without a valid licence or ignore local safety rules. Pre-existing conditions might also require additional cover.

How to Claim

If something happens, notify Cover-More as soon as possible. Keep receipts, medical reports, or police statements for proof. Claims can be submitted online, and many are processed within 5–10 working days. Urgent medical claims are prioritised and often settled faster.

Why It Matters

Medical evacuation from Bali to Australia can cost over $50,000. Travel insurance is a small price for peace of mind, letting you enjoy paradise without worry.

Before you finalise your holiday plans, make sure you have reliable travel insurance like Cover-More to protect your trip, health, and belongings—so you can fully enjoy Nusa Lembongan activities and adventures without worry.

Our team is always here to help you have the perfect Lembongan stay and arrange the boat transfers for your next island getaway.

Morin’s Story of Conservation, Morin Resort Nusa Lembongan

Built Mindfully: Morin’s Story of Conservation

Built Mindfully: Morin’s Story of Conservation

At Morin Resort, we believe that a business can, and should, be a force for good. From the materials we build with, to the energy we use, to the way we treat people and the ocean, we are doing our best to operate in a way that protects, uplifts, and regenerates. We don’t claim to have it all figured out, but we are committed to learning, improving and treading as lightly as we can.

Business as a Force for Conservation

Our barefoot-luxury resort is more than just a place to stay, it’s a small platform we hope can help raise awareness and inspire thoughtful action. We see ourselves as students and stewards of the natural world that surrounds us, especially the vibrant marine life that makes Nusa Lembongan island so unique.

As part of our ongoing commitment to conservation, we are proud to support Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF), whose work focuses on the research and conservation of manta rays, sea turtles and whale sharks. One way we support their efforts is through guided manta ray trips with our private boat, Pari Manta, which aim to be more than a snorkeling experience. These outings are co-hosted by two MMF biologists: one shares knowledge with guests about local marine life and conservation efforts, while the other collects data that directly contributes to ongoing research and the preservation of these species and their habitats. For our guests, it’s a chance to witness ocean conservation in action, and for us, it’s a way to connect tourism with tangible, science-based conservation.

Mindful Materials & Timeless Design

Our commitment to sustainability began with the building of Morin itself. No trees were cut down to make space for the resort. Instead, we chose to build with mostly antique teak, giving a second life to materials that already carried history. Much of the wood you’ll see has been upcycled with care, reflecting a simple belief: we can often work with what’s already here.

To us, sustainability means looking beyond short-term convenience and considering long-term impact. We’re still learning every day, but we try to ask not just ‘what does this cost today?’ but ‘what will this mean tomorrow?’

A Work in Progress: Responsible Operations

Beyond design, we take responsibility for how we operate. Our wastewater is treated before being released, something that should be standard practice, yet still worth mentioning in today’s world. It’s a simple act of respect for the reef and sea around us.

Some everyday examples: we use solar panels to reduce our energy footprint and make small, practical choices that reflect our values, like edible rice straws instead of plastic, refillable glass water bottles, and fans in rooms to reduce reliance on air conditioning. These details may go unnoticed, but they help protect the environment we depend on.

At our restaurant, The Playful Table, we extend this philosophy to the plate. Our menu leans proudly plant-based, celebrating local roots—literally—with ingredients like cassava, the island’s staple crop. We believe travel should remain a journey of discovery, not a repetition of the familiar. After all, what’s the point of going halfway around the world if you’re served the same continental breakfast you could find anywhere?

Around the property, we also share information with guests about local species, like geckos and frogs, to help everyone better understand and peacefully coexist with the wildlife that lives here.

We know we still have more to learn and more to do, and we’re always looking for thoughtful ways to do better, one small step at a time.

Conscious Business Means Conscious People

Sustainability at Morin isn’t just about the environment, it’s also about how we treat each other. We’re gently challenging some of the outdated norms in hospitality, where the guest is seen as king at the expense of the team’s well-being. We don’t believe respect should be a one-way street.

At Morin, our team is the heart of everything. We’re cultivating a safe, supportive space where each individual can grow, personally and professionally. Our workplace isn’t just a resort; it’s a playground for growth, a place where people are encouraged to be themselves and thrive.

And when we welcome you to Morin, we hope it’s not just about service, but about connection. To each other. To nature. And to yourself.

A New Kind of Luxury

We are still learning. Still growing. But we believe in a kind of luxury that gives back, one that is rooted in respect, care and purpose.

If you choose to stay with us, we hope you leave lighter, inspired and perhaps even a little more connected to this beautiful planet we all share.

Come experience a new kind of luxury, one that gives back, grows together and leaves the world better than we found it.

Our team is always here to help you have the perfect Lembongan stay and arrange the boat transfers for your next island getaway.

Edge of Beauty: Villa Ocean Blue

A breathtaking new four-bedroom villa in Nusa Lembongan

Everyone deserves a holiday where time slows down—where days are spent lounging by the pool with no fixed agenda. Welcome to Villa Ocean Blue, where tranquillity takes centre stage, and “out of office” truly means switching off.

Where Relaxation Meets Style

From the moment you arrive at this stunning new villa, the worries of everyday life fade away. With a sweeping panorama of the Indian Ocean, Villa Ocean Blue offers an unparalleled sense of calm. Designed for those who appreciate both comfort and style, this clifftop retreat invites you to wake up to the sound of waves, spot dolphins and turtles from the infinity pool, and unwind as the sky transforms into a canvas of sunset hues.

With an ocean-facing master suite, three additional bedrooms, a spacious living area, and an inviting sun lounge, the villa is perfect for those looking to soak up the island’s beauty in ultimate comfort. Floor-to-ceiling glass in the master bedroom means you don’t even have to leave your bed to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view, and the outdoor bathtub offers a sanctuary after a day of adventure.

Prefer a cosy night in? The 98-inch Smart TV in the living room is perfect for a family movie night or an epic Netflix binge.

A Family Favourite

With space to sleep up to eight guests, Villa Ocean Blue is an excellent choice for families seeking a stylish island escape. The three additional bedrooms can be set up as king or twin, offering flexibility for different group dynamics. The villa’s outdoor areas are made for connection, whether it’s sunbathing by the infinity pool or enjoying breakfast with an ocean breeze.

Unlike many family-friendly villas that prioritise practicality over aesthetics, Villa Ocean Blue blends thoughtful design with Pinterest-worthy interiors. One of the bedrooms even features an indoor bathroom, perfect for families with little ones, while the other three boast semi-outdoor bathrooms, allowing you to shower under the sky.

However, due to the clifftop location and infinity pool design, this villa is not recommended for families with young children. A pool fence can be arranged at an additional cost, and our team will happily assist with giving you contact for this.
